How To Apply Make-up

Step one to applying your make up: Start with your foundation. You really want a foundation color that matches your skin tone exactly; you want to blend it in. Any area that you don’t have redness or things like that, you want to cover-up. So you would want to match your foundation to that.

How to Professionally Apply Make up I always start by dabbing the foundation on evenly. I like to blend it with my fingers because it really presses the make-up into my skin and pores. You can always finish it up with your make-up sponge right after.

Step 2 : Concealer should also match your skin tone exactly. It can have some yellow tones in it or different tones. It is used to camouflage any discoloration or redness you may have.

I love using a concealer that already has a ready-made brush. I frequently use it under my eyes, around the nose is also a good highlighting area. If you have any blemishes anywhere, you can also cover it up with a makeup sponge and just press it in.

Step 3: After you have your base on, which is your foundation and concealer and if you’re happy with the way it looks, you want to set it with powder. I prefer using a loose powder while some people use a light pressed powder. With powders, you just want to keep it very light. Just do a light dusting all over your whole face.

Step 4: I start with the eyebrows because it frames your face for the rest of your makeup. I like to use a pencil with some eyebrow brush that we can use to blend. Some people prefer to use powder. I just fill in my eyebrows and blend with a eyebrow brush, pushing in any hard line you may have made.

Step 5: I always start with the lightest eyeshadow color, my highlighter color. I usually apply it with my finger on the entire lid. Then you take your second color which is a little darker. Now, we use a brush. Apply the second color right into your crease and just blend it in. You can actually use any color but it should always be a little darker than your base color.

Now that you have your eyeshadow on, you’re ready for step 6 which is the eyeliner.

I almost always use black or a really dark color. I also like to get the kind with spongy tip in the end so you can blend the eyeliner in.

I always start on top of the upper lid and apply it really close to the lash line. What you don’t want is for any light to show between your lashes and your lid. Then you take your sponge tip and just smudge it all in.

Step 7: Now that you have your eyeshadow and eyeliner on, it’s time for mascara. Applying mascara really finishes your eye. The number one thing, you want to do once you open your mascara, is wipe the excess on a tissue.

Then you apply the mascara and get it as close to the base of your lashes as you can. I like to apply the mascara on top and underneath alternately.
